This CD is a narrative in English, with music between each "chapter". The legend tells of an evil that came and took the four crystals of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. But the Wind Crystal rose from the Underworld and chose four valiant youths to seek out the other three crystals. Some of the music are medleys of songs from the FF series. Each track has several distinct parts.

This is an arranged album for Final Fantasy XI that was interestingly performed by THE STAR ONIONS; a group comprised of several Square-Enix sound staff (Naoshi Mizuta, Kumi Tanioka and Nobuo Uematsu): On September 11, 2004, there was a special tribute night for the soon to be released Chains of Promathia expansion pack. The magazine Famitsu sponsored a Square-Enix organised concert in which 6 songs were performed from both prior OSTs; the original soundtrack as well as music from Rise of the Zilart expansion.

Even though the English version of FFX-2 had vocals done by Jade from Sweetbox, Koda Kumi recorded her own English versions of the songs "real Emotion" and "1000 Words".
In the Koda Kumi English versions, what you find is a lot of "Engrish".
The fourth and fifth tracks are also seriously worth listening to: these are remixes of the Japanese versions of Kumi Koda's lovely performances of the X-2 vocal themes.
This CD holds some more obscure music in the strange world of Final Fantasy X-2.
